Web Developer Java (M/V)

 Foreach is currently seeking a Java Web Developer to reinforce our team based in our headquarters in Merksem.  You will be part of our mixed Java/.NET SCRUM team of 10 people.  This team is responsible for our mid-sized web, mobile and tablet projects for various customers.  Foreach operates as a project house and strives to expand its HQ-based development teams over the next years.

Your main responsibility will be to develop and support tailor-made webapplications and web-platforms in Java.  Depending on your skills you may undertake adventures into front end or .NET development.  Your talents and experience in analysis, architecture and testing and your social skills will be put to good use in our open and dynamic organisation.  Your home base will be Merksem, but on occasion you may be asked to become involved in projects that run on location with customers.

MUST HAVE

• A passion for developing serious web-applications, an eye for performance and code quality
• Prior professional experience in Java webdevelopment, the latest standards and existing browser quirks
• Experience with several Java frameworks, like Spring, Hibernate, Mybatis, Log4J, etc.
• A preference for agility in all its forms, including a flexible mindset and eagerness to learn and evolve
• The opinion that the Java vs. .NET discussion is just a big fuzz
• A professional teamplayer attitude and good communication skills

NICE TO HAVE

• A good understanding of the functional aspects of software applications
• Experience with architecture, analysis or testing of web applications
• Experience with mobile or tablet applications (native or webapps)
• Some experience in .NET, PHP or other web development languages
• Some experience in front end development (xHTML, Javascript, CSS)
• A personality and ambition that fits with a young and fast evolving organisation
